According to a thread on the r/Sneakers subreddit, KITH appears to have tricked those using bots to purchase the white OFF-WHITE x Nike Air Presto by putting up a falsely labeled URL linking to an $80 wheat/gum Air Jordan I instead.
In the thread is a link to a screenshot (below) of what appears to be a conversation between a KITH customer service representative and an annoyed customer who claims to have spent $1,700 on the Air Jordan Is, thinking they had been purchasing the OFF-WHITE Air Prestos. KITH customer service can be seen telling the customer that the retailer’s policies do not allow orders to be canceled or modified once they’re placed. The aggrieved customer responded that he or she would be involving their lawyers.
Comments on Reddit claimed this isn’t the first time KITH had swapped out URLs to combat botters. According to one user, KITH had swapped the link for the KITH x adidas Ultra Boost Mid “Aspen” for the less-hyped Ronnie Fieg Response Trail Boost. The above conversation cannot be verified beyond a screenshot posted on Reddit. The fake (or “mislabelled”) link, however, is real and still active at the time of writing.
